My Before & After and how I feel about it

My Before & After and how I feel about it

I'm so excited to share my Before & After with you!…

Christmas Home Tour 2017

I am ready for Christmas!

I am ready for Christmas!

Hello everyone! As you can see, this week there's something very special and out of the ordinary on the blog. I've been posting little teasers of my Christmas decor on Insta stories and many of you asked for a Christmas Home Tour! We actually just moved into this house only 2 months ago. The moments we stepped in it just felt like home to us, so holiday decorating this year has been very special!

I'll be honest, I did not buy a ton of decorations as I'm still furnishing the house. That's why our decor is quite minimalist and very pure! I had a lot of fun picking my 'pure decorations' in a very soft palette. Lots of white (I'm wishing for a white Christmas!), silver and gold. I've decided to add a strong black ribbon accent to my Christmas tree because I have black photo frames in my living room, so it ties the decor beautifully. It also reminds me of elegant Tiffany's packaging!

Enjoy the tour!

This year I wanted to add a more arty and elegant touch, that's why I went with black & white ribbons, I also found a great, big, white, wooden 'snowflake' at Bouclair!

At the same store I also bought a crystal snow ball with a white owl inside. I simply love owls. They symbolize strength and wisdom. When we moved with my husband into our first condo, the first time we stepped on the balcony, we saw a white owl fly by! This new house actually has a wooden owl in the garden, which I obviously loved when we first saw it.

The holiday cards I sent out are gold & silver.

I'm really happy with how our living room is decorated! I simply adore our white christmas tree, as I always wish for White Christmas... The lights on the tree partially stopped working, but I didn't want to buy a new one this year, as we were in a hurry leaving for Cuba to relax for a week before the holidays. I added more shiny decorations to make up for that!

The black ribbon is so elegant and really pops!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and the most wonderful New Year!

love always,

Agnes

Kavita Suri

I love working with entrepreneurs who are so honest about their personal and professional journeys... I've been working with Kavita Suri, Owner of Infuse Med Spa for years now as she enjoys doing a branding photo session every year.  And every single year we think we won't be able to out-do ourselves next time, yet we always manage to!

This project takes a very special place in my heart as the inspiration for it was the story of the rising phoenix, a suggestion that came from Kavita's dear friend, artistic director Umbereen Inayet. It just so happened that we were going through some difficult times and growing pains, so we poured our hearts and souls into the project.

The goal was to remind us all that through hardships we can be reborn, shed parts of ourselves we no longer need and come out stronger in the process. Eternal and beautiful, the Phoenix "represents hope and life, it is a symbol of strength in face of calamity and destruction, [...] there is no greater symbol for a man's indomitable will".

The one thing you need to do to have a successful Photo Session

Throughout the years of working as a Photographer, I have heard so many stories from people I had the pleasure of photographing. Most people are a bit stressed about being photographed and many of them bring up stories of unsuccessful past photoshoots they were unhappy about...

Fortunately there is one simple thing you can do to pretty much make sure that your Photo Session will be a wonderful, positive experience and an absolute SUCCESS!

It is your Consultation.

Why is it so important?

1. A no-pressure consultation gives you a chance to meet your Photographer

A professional, confident Photographer should not have a problem to meet you for a complimentary consultation. This meeting will help you determine if you trust this person with your image, which is extremely important. Working with someone you feel good around will allow you to be very comfortable in front of the camera during an actual photoshoot. This will obviously affect the results greatly!

2. During a consultation, you can ask questions and communicate your needs

When you understand the process fully, you feel very confident about having your photos done. Many of us also have an idea of how we want to look like, we have favourite angles, maybe some things we don't like about ourselves... It is crucial to communicate those issues beforehand, so the Photographer can prepare and ultimately create imagery you DO love and want! A good Photographer will give you tips and advice based on what your needs are, which will make you well prepared and very excited for your photoshoot!

3. An in-person consultation is where Photographer's vision for your photoshoot comes together

We are all so busy nowadays and we always try to have less meetings, yet it is really during the Consultation that the vision for your photoshoot is created in Photographer's mind. Years of experience have taught me that arranging things via e-mail rather that phone or in person is simply asking for trouble and leaving lots of room for misunderstandings. During the actual photoshoot, there's no time to communicate the vision. There is hair and make-up being done, lights being set up, wardrobe getting that last steaming and many, many more things going on... The connection between the client and the Photographer that will determine the outcome is established during the Consultation.

Remember, a Photo Session should be a wonderful experience you will remember forever!

By doing a Consultation you make sure you go with someone you feel confident with who can create exactly what you want for you!
