Boakes Wealth Management

The way we work and serve as women is so often tied to a purpose. We care deeply, lead with our hearts, and pour our whole selves into what we create. When I meet other women who operate this way, the connection feels effortless and real.

This was my third photoshoot with Shannon of Boakes Wealth Management and once again, it felt like collaborating with a kindred spirit. Grateful for the trust, and even more for the values we share!

Iconic Brand Photoshoot Wardrobe Guide (for men)

There's no question that
great wardrobe = great photoshoot

People ask me all the time: what should I wear for my photoshoot?

Great wardrobe doesn't mean designer only wardrobe.
Great photoshoot wardrobe is wardrobe that is authentic to you
and compliments your look well.

Check out these Iconic Outfits:

  1. Suit + Tie

A classic for a reason, the suit and tie combo brings instant polish and professionalism. Whether it's a tailored navy, charcoal, or soft grey, it frames you with intention and structure.

Keep it fresh by opting for modern cuts, a slim tie, or a textured fabric. This look works especially well for entrepreneurs, executives or anyone wanting to convey authority with style.

2. Dress Shirt

Clean, simple, and versatile — a well-fitted dress shirt is a timeless choice that strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined. It keeps the focus on you while still feeling elevated.

Go for solid tones like white, light blue, or soft earth tones.

Want to add interest? Try a subtle stripe, a roll of the sleeves, or layering with a jacket or vest for dimension.

3. Blazer + Shirt (No Tie)

Polished yet approachable, the blazer-and-shirt combo without a tie strikes the ideal balance between casual and elevated.

It’s perfect for showcasing confidence without looking too formal.

Stick with a crisp button-up and a well-tailored blazer—think structured but not stiff. Soft textures, muted colors, or a patterned shirt can add personality while keeping things photo-ready.

4. Casual Cool

A casual outfit doesn’t mean unpolished—it’s all about intention and fit. Think well-fitted basics with clean lines and a touch of personality. This style works especially well for creative brands or personal shoots where authenticity is key.

Opt for quality fabrics, interesting color choices, or a standout piece to elevate the look. Casual can still feel put-together when every element feels considered.

5. Sweaters & Turtlenecks

Sweaters and turtlenecks bring a refined, elegant feel to photos—and they photograph beautifully. To keep the look versatile and avoid it feeling too seasonal, steer clear of winter-specific patterns (like snowflakes or Fair Isle) and overly chunky knits.

Instead, go for smooth, medium-weight textures in solid or neutral tones. Layer under a jacket or wear solo for a clean, modern look that feels cozy without screaming “holiday card.”

6. Polo Shirt (long sleeve)

Polo shirts offer a timeless, polished look that photographs effortlessly—especially when made from a soft knit. To keep the style modern and elevated, opt for long-sleeve versions in solid, neutral tones and skip sporty logos or bold patterns. Worn on their own or layered under a blazer, knit polos strike the perfect balance between relaxed and refined, making them a versatile choice for portraits that feel classic without trying too hard.

7. Polo Shirt (short sleeve)

Short-sleeve polos bring an easy sophistication that works beautifully on camera. Choose one in a soft, fine-knit fabric that drapes well and feels elevated, not sporty. Solid colors in muted or neutral tones photograph best, keeping the focus on you rather than the clothing. Whether paired with tailored trousers or dark denim, a short-sleeve polo offers that effortless blend of comfort and confidence—refined enough for a portrait, yet relaxed enough to feel natural.

5 Ever-Changing Life Scenarios to Consider for Life Insurance

Life can change quickly, and it’s crucial to ensure that your insurance is keeping up. Amanda Cutten, an insurance agent with over 20 years of experience shares with us five critical times to pause and determine if your insurance needs have changed:

  1. Your Marital Status Has Changed: Whether you’re getting married and combining households or divorcing and splitting up possessions, a change in your marital status can impact your need for life, auto, and home insurance coverage. As you review your coverage, be sure to verify or change your beneficiary designations, if applicable.

  2. Your Family Makeup Changes: If you’re expecting a baby or adopting a child, you’ll want to protect your growing family with adequate life, critical illness, and disability insurance. Losing a family member is another life event that may prompt a policy review. It’s important to review beneficiary designations on your existing policies whenever these types of changes occur.

  3. Your Teen Gets a Driver’s License: If your child is just learning to drive, proper auto insurance is a must. Whether you plan to add them to your existing policy or have them purchase a policy of their own, be sure to talk to your insurance advisor about your options, including discounts that may be available for multi-vehicle policies or student drivers.

  4. You Make a Major Purchase: If you buy a home or vacation property, or take on a significant renovation, you should review your home insurance. But don’t stop there. When you buy, inherit, or acquire items of value, like expensive sports equipment, a baby grand piano, or antique jewelry, it’s also important to check whether these possessions are fully covered by your existing policy or if you should consider protecting them with additional coverage.

  5. Your Employment Status Changes: If your income has recently changed due to a promotion, lay-offs, termination, retirement, or a change in your career aspirations, it’s crucial to let your insurance advisor know. Depending on your circumstances, they may recommend increasing your coverage or opting for a more affordable option. Plus, if you’re no longer commuting to an office or worksite, your auto insurance premiums might also change.

In conclusion, if your life has changed significantly, now is the right time to review your insurance coverage. Not sure where to start? Reach out to Amanda for more helpful insurance tips.
