Adrianne

It was a delight to capture Adrianne again.

In her thirties, Adrianne became the first woman founder in North America to own a fully licensed Private Investigations and Security Agency. Today, her firm has the longest history in the private investigation and security sector in North America, paving the way for other females should they choose this industry.

Adrianne’s newest venture, a media company I Am Unbreakable is a supportive and inclusive platform that amplifies a woman's voice, perspectives, experiences and achievements. By encouraging women to embrace their strengths, cultivate their talents and speak out confidently, they aim to create a world where every woman can freely express herself, shape her own narrative, and inspire positive change.

I will start by saying I am somewhat (lol) particular in who I work with as a photographer. I will also add that I have done this for many years and have never worked with a pro like Agnes. She is a one-of-a-kind photographer. Her talent is second to none and on top of that Agnes brings a creativity to the table that is truly unique.

I have done many photo shoots, but nothing like the ones with Pure Studios. Her work and #rockstar clients speak for themselves. I will also add she is fantastic at collaborating with you to get the look that you want. Her styling expertise is so appreciated!

How to Be Confident In Front of the Camera

How to be confident in front of the camera? A lot of people struggle with it.

Over 20 years of photographing people I’ve heard it all: I’m awkward in front of the lens, I don’t know how to pose, I’m not photogenic, I don’t know what to wear… yet by the time the photo shoot is ending, everyone wants more! Great photos give an incredible confidence boost and are cherished forever.

How can you feel more confident in front of the camera? Lovely Juliana Leamen, Holistic Menopause Transition Expert, interviewed me about this topic on her podcast:

5 Iconic Poses for Your Brand Photoshoot (for men)

One of the first comments I get when people call about Brand Photoshoots is that they have no idea what to do in front of the camera.

The good thing is that I got you and I will guide you throughout your photoshoot, you don’t need to know what to do.

Here are some of the iconic poses we can do:

  1. straight to the camera

It’s always a powerful portrait and headshot pose. What makes this photo work is expression. A serious gaze will create a powerful image while a warm smile will make you look approachable.

2. hard at work

Lifestyle photos showing you at work always add authenticity to your branding.

3. wall lean

I’ve always loved this pose and it’s become one of the most requested poses for Brand Photoshoots.

4. desk lean

This is such a versatile pose, depending on your expression it can look very serious or very approachable.

5. in a chair

Using a chair usually takes care of a very common problem during photoshoots: “I don’t know what to do with my hands and legs!”

Fall Favourites 2021

PureStudiosAgnesKieszSep26Cambridge-6.jpg

Over the years, I’ve come to love fall.

I used to get sad when summer was ending but now I enjoy the slower pace of fall. Longer evenings are perfect for cooking, reading, watching movies or walks with your friends and family.

Here’s some of my fall favourites so far:

MOVIE

Hedy Lamarr documentary.jpg

I loved “Bombshell. The Hedy Lamarr Story” as I’m going through a documentary phase now.

Synopsis: Austrian actress Hedy Lamarr fled an oppressive marriage to create a name for herself as one of Hollywood's top leading ladies in the 1940s. Behind the glamour and sex appeal, though, was a talented and inquisitive inventor who created a radio system that is now considered the basis of Bluetooth technology.

CROCHETELLA PURSE

PureStudiosAgnesKieszSep26Cambridge-16.jpg

I found Crochetella on social media and fell in love with their stunning purses. The first one I got is in my favourite colour, green, but there’s over 40 beautiful colours to choose from. This model (Bellona) comes with a removable long strap as well.

BOOK

dr-shefali-book-cover-image.jpg

Self-help books can be a hit or miss for me, but I really enjoyed this book by dr. Shefali. I don’t want to reveal too much, but there were certainly a few powerful aha! moments for me.

CARROT APPLE CAKE

PureStudiosAgnesKieszPies-5.jpg

This cake is so delicious with everything, you can have it in the morning with your coffee or in the evening with a mug of tea. I avoid sugar, so I barely add any when I make it.

2 cups grated carrot

1 apple, peeled and grated

2,5 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup melted unsalted butter

3/4 cup milk

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 350 F/177 C

2. Oil or spray a 9x5 inch (2 L) loaf pan. Grate apple and measure 3/4 cup. When measuring carrot and apple, do not pack down. Squeeze measured apple using your hands to remove as much liquid as you can.

3. In a bowl, whisk flour with baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Make a well in the centre. In a large bowl, whisk sugar with melted butter until mixed. Whisk in milk, then eggs and vanilla. Using a fork, stir in grated apple, then carrot until evenly distributed. Pour into dry ingredients and fold together until no streaks of flour remain. Mixture will be thick. Turn into prepared pan and spread out evenly.

4. Bake in centre of preheated oven for 65-70 minutes.

SHOES

From the moment I saw Christian Louboutin pump collection in warm browns, I was hooked. I’m sure every shoe lover will understand. These pumps are beautiful for fall and the contrast of brown shades with red soles in undeniably stunning.

PHOTO OF THE SEASON

PureStudiosAgnesKieszANDI-95.jpg

From the moment we met online for their photoshoot consultation, I had this idea in my mind for a photo with Adriana and Andrea (they are face yoga experts) lying down with gua shas. We were all very happy with how this idea materialized!

QUOTE

womenshine.jpg

As women we give so much of ourselves to others and it’s good to remind ourselves we are valuable just as we are and we need self-care too. Fall is a great time to do something for yourself! It might be picking up a hobby you’ve always wanted to try, seeing friends regularly or treating yourself with something special.

Wishing you a lovely fall!

xoxo, Agnes
