Karen is one of the participants of our 40 over 40 Experience. It has been wonderful photographing women over 40 and I can’t wait to share more shoots with you.
We have met incredible women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & even 80s and we’re so excited for the art exhibition showcasing their beauty, wisdom and power.
We asked Karen questions about beauty and confidence over 40:
What does beauty mean to you?
To me beauty is more than just being blessed with a good gene pool. I think what is on the inside is just as important. To me truly beautiful people have an energy, it is like a light that radiates out from them. What makes me feel beautiful is when “everything comes together” - the right outfit, the right place , the right mood with the right people.
How do you nurture your confidence?
I nurture my confidence with physical activity, I always feel better and stronger after a workout. I also challenge myself to do things that I would normally not do or even avoid. That way when I accomplish them, it is like score one for Karen!
Before this photoshoot, when was the last time you did something for yourself?
OMG years ago, probably a good ten years or more.
